Yesterday, my lovely pregnant friend, KG, sent me flowers and so did my wonderful sister-in-law, so I asked my husband to capture them for posterity at the peak of their radiant and loving beauty.
To paraphrase Lady Macbeth, who said it best (though not, in her case, about an auspicious occasion):
"The deed is done, and can't be undone."
I am finally, improbably yet surely, Dr. G.

It is not even slightly improbable that you are now, radiantly and completely, the person you always were: the grand Dr. G.
Congratulations! I hope that now you will rest and do some things that give you joy. I'm eager to celebrate with you, which we can do in person in about a month. Yeah!
Dr. S: Well, I don't know about grand, but I do appreciate the sentiment. :)
KYlitprof: Thanks! I also look forward to celebrating with you in person very soon!
Querida Dr. G: Even though people can be born wealthy, nobody is born educated. You, however, were born to have this degree. I can’t imagine that God would have had a hand in all of the hardships that you have endured in life, but I know that God had this success in store for you all along. It may be hard to think that it is God that grants us these great accomplishments in life, especially since you worked so hard for it, you earned it, you deserve it. But this is how I personally see my three children, as a gift from God, and of course, I want to think that I deserved them and that God knew that I would be a good parent for them. So if it is God that has let you reach this giant accomplishment (and also put you on this earth as my big sister) then thank you, God.
I’m so proud of you, nana.
